The Campbell Clan became the owners of this land in Scotland's Kilberry in the mid-16th century. The castle, which was part of the estate, became their family home. It was destroyed by a massive fire in 1773. The ruins were rebuilt some 100 years later .

The historic property has 10 principal and 4 secondary bedrooms as well as 4 bathrooms. The whole estate occupies some 21 acres while the Kilberry Bay white-sand beach is around a 10-minute walk away from the castle.
Kilberry has no central heating and needs a proper large-scale restoration but it does not mean the castle is not livable. Still it can boast a lot of original features like a grand wooden staircase and Italian marble fireplaces in the library and a drawing room. The horns and heads are attached to the walls.
The owners say that the castle has so many original items because there was no need to change the interiors and the castle history is there for everybody to read and see.
Kilberry Castle is less than a 3-hour drive from Glasgow.
