This MOC is a my LEGO interpretation of the 15th-century Castillo de Villalonso, one of the best-preserved castles in Spain’s Castile and León region. Known for its austere military design, the castle has also featured in movies Robin and Marian (starring Sean Connery, Audrey Hepburn, and Robert Shaw).
The model captures the fortress’s distinctive, no-nonsense architecture: a compact rectangular layout dominated by a tall, unadorned keep, reinforced by sturdy corner towers. The walls feature simple machicolations and minimal ornamentation, reflecting the purely defensive purpose of the original structure.
Designed with clarity and clean lines in mind, this build focuses on strong shapes and recognizable proportions rather than excessive detailing. The result is a striking and authentic silhouette that works well both as a display piece and as part of a larger medieval layout.
