Rheinstein castle is located near the town of Trechtingshausen in Germany's Rhineland-Palatinate. It was originally a medieval burg built on the bank of the Rhine in the 14th century. It was the first castle in the Rhine Valley to be restored in a popular Romantic style with Neo-Gothic elements in the early 19th century.
You can learn more about this fairy tale castle from this interview with the castle owner - Markus Hecher.
